Hello! I had managed to set up the livebox to use my macbook wirelessly (without Orange's help of course) and everything was working fine. Then my flatmate managed to unplug the livebox and everything went wrong. I can access the livebox (192 etc) but it says 'Invalid ADSL Authentification'. I haven't changed the username or password and they're correct. Orange won't help because I'm using a MAC (even though the problem has nothing to do with the MAC). I've reset the livebox a few times the way they tell you to but with no luck. Has anyone else had this problem?
They should help with this as the MAC isn't related to the problem at all.
You could try using an alternate domain incase it's been altered for some reason. (From experience this is usually only done by BT due to minor problems at the exchange)
At the end of your username is "@fs" try changing this through the list below and see if any help.
Thank you! I'm away for the week now but will try next week. I kept telling Orange it wasn't a MAC problem but the minute I mentioned my MAC they won't help me. I'll let you know how I get on with the alternate addresses. Thanks again.
Best way around that is get the config pages open before you call if you need to again and tell them you have them open. Don't tell them it's a MAC unless they ask that way they should just jump straight into trying to fix the problem.
Good idea. I'll try that when I'm back home. I only mentioned it before because I suddenly doubted that all that it wasn't a MAC problem. I know for sure now that all my MAC settings are fine. Thanks again.
