I am currently on the 2mb speed, not been lucky enough to have been upgraded to 8mb yet.
I have noticed over the last few nights that I have been lucky to gert 1mb speed roughly between 6 -11pm. Anyone else eperienced this?
Yep,same problem here,between 6pm & 11pm.All other times it works fine.
Its been like this for a couple of weeks.Sometimes the speed is below dail-up speeds.
I use xbox live and it's un-usable at these speeds.I pay over £300 a year and this is simply not good enough.
I rang them up,and the bloke on the phone said this is NORMAL!!?!.
I have been with freeserve/wannadoo for over 3 years,no problems at all.
Is everybody having the same problem?.Because this is ridiculous.

I took out a new Dolphin package with free broadband from Orange. I would not have done so had there not been free broadband included with the offer.
This was about 2 weeks ago. I used to be with BT, who, by the way have always provided a very, very reliable 2MB ADSL connection into my house and whenever I have measured true speeds on adslguide.org, have actually delivered 2Megs.
Now that I am using Orange, the only thing that has changed is the network from the service provider. My router still connects at 2Megs and nothing has changed as far as the BT exchange is concerned.
However, contention has really really become a big issue for me. I have tested this connection over the past two weeks - the fastest I got was 740kbps - the slowest 150kbps. It's very very poor.
Two questions to Orange (if you are listening and/or actually care)
1. If I call one of your Indian call centres on 150 option 2, will they understand my problem and be able to make the networking changes within Orange to fix the issue; or will they simply read from a scripted set of 'fixes' and waste both of our time? I tend to think the latter after reading this forum.
2. Am I within my rights to cancel my phone agreement with you? Remember, I only took it out because free broadband was included. To my mind, this is not as advertised and is most certainly not fit for purpose and I would tend to think that I have a case under both the sale of goods and trades description acts.
I bet ten quid that Orange neither monitors nor cares about the comments posted by customers on this site who are having issues with broadband. You have all signed up for it and are bound by your contract. Heaven help you if you try and escape, and, if you can because you have served your time, they will have factored in a suitable customer departure rate into their forecasts anyway.
Good luck on getting your Orange broadband issues fixed. One thing is certain, Orange wont fix them for you.

Hi Ross my problem was opposite to yours. Freeserve-Orange for last 8 years, on 2 meg up to Feb this year, service degraded down to 0 meg over 6 months!!, went to BT, now on 2meg .
Nothing has changed on my side other than changing ISP, the problem is obviously Oranges.
Orange don't listen and don't care.
As to the offshore call centers, you might as well walk down the street, stop any stranger and see if they can help
