Hi, been with them since freeserve days, now Orange and aware its EE now.
Current set up is a Orange livebox and a line with the promise of 8mbps.
For a long time I used to get around 6mbps.
A few months back my adsl speed became terrible, regularly below 1mbps.
I have sent several emails to support asking them to sort it out or send out new livebox or filters.
Each time they ask me to call their people in India (no issues with that) which I can't take as there is the horrible noise they call music and the barrier to understanding things is too much to take.
Add to this they always take me down the route 'it must be my fault' when I know it is not.
I've done all the suggested things time and time again.
Re set TCP/IP re set router, changed filters, use master socket and so on.
Anyway I was out of the UK for Three weeks and asked them to sort it for my return.
Same daft email telling me to call support, however I can back to 6.89mbps which seemed great yet web pages still were slow and watching video content always means a fail as the connection seems to drop out.
Did some tests tonight using the BT speed test, 6.89 was the best and 0.23 the worst!
Is there anything else I might try here or is it just time to go to a new isp?
I pay £25.86 a month for this service, granted its unlimited download and a VOIP service (hardly used) but I also pay for phone at £20 so I am thinking there might be much better value to be had?
Thing is, having had the same email addresses for so long it would be a pain to change.

I am in almost the exact same boat, but i am in the midlands! After being with Freeserve, then Wanadoo for many years, I posted this just a couple of days ago on a forum:
My Orange BB has been getting slower for the last few months. I used to get speedtest.net down load speeds of between 5 and 8 (usually 5 ish) but since October I have not got over 2 meg.
In the last few weeks it has been about 1.5 meg, but today it is 0.5 meg. By Monday I should be on dial-up.
Anyone else having similar experiences? Could this be down to increased Christmas Internet shopping traffic?
Sorry but I can offer no help yet. I am hoping it will clear up on its own, like all the other (shorter) times in the past, when the speed had dipped for a couple of days...

Oddly my speed tests are showing 6 and 7mbps now, however web pages still run slow.
I seem to be able to download files ok but not watch videos or sounds.
In fact my internet radio that uses the wireless connection just can't work anymore.
Is it possible EE are stopping streaming?
