Hi I want to set up an account for myself in MAC OS X's Mail program it's usually pretty easy however.
My girlfriend is the one with the account.
My name is mitch so would I put:
mitchell@leannemccormick.orangehome.co.uk
Or do I have to set up her details and then stick an alias on.
I don't get it.
Can people tell me what I need to put in each field.
I have tried searching the forums but most descriptions are vague and/or are for Outlook.
I've set it up with mitchell@leannemccormick@orangehome.co.uk and it has received emails however do I need to change it to my girlfriends name and then set aliases up and rules.
Hmm IE playing up again then, seen that feature work before but the "click" point was hidden this time, anyway...
Looking at mail it looks like all you need to do is setup 2 (or 3, see at the bottom) accounts in it. Just setup as hers but with one little difference to the actual settings for both. For the username instead of putting in the one you have, which catches all messages put the email address you want for that account. That should then only get the messages for that address.
It's probably wise to add a 3rd account to catch misspellings, junk etc. so they don't slow fill up your mailbox though. Call it whatever you like and just put the username as you have in the screenshot. Ideally that should then all work.
Ok I've set two up so far but I get this error now.
The mail server denied access to the account "Orange Broadband 2" because an administrator or other mail client was using it when Mail tried to log in. Please try again later.

You only need to have one main account.
Since your GF is the account owner, set up the main account for her - make her email address something like:
leanne@leannemccormick.orangehome.co.uk
... the bit after the @ sign is critical as it is her Orange Username.
Then create a Mailbox for yourself: [Mailbox..New Mailbox..On My MAC] - call it, say, Mitch.
Finally, create a Rule [Mail..Preference..Rules..Add Rule] which will Transfer all emails where the To: address contains:
mitchell@leannemccormick.orangehome.co.uk
... to your new mailbox.
Put the rule high up in the list and set Stop evaluating rules as the last command (this will prevent the rule overflowing into any subsequent rules).
