Warning !!!
If you have a problem with the BT phone line to your house, which will effect you Home Max package. ie:- no home phone and intermittent broadband/ second line. The hopeless customer support in India can only quote an engineer coming out to fix the problem within 24 -48 hours, no specific date or time can be given. When this time is up, we discovered it is 24 -48 working hours, this means, based on an 8 hour day and not including Saturday or Sunday, you could actually wait for 8 days, still no specific date or time of day. While the line to your house is BT, Orange have adoptted it and really need a better procedure when liasing with BT to fix the line. We have had a problem with our phone line since 09 April and are still waiting for an engineer, infact, phoned Orange today 25 April, just to be told the engineer's are to busy. Phone back on Tuesday 29 April to try and book another engineer. Has anyone else had this problem ?
My phone line has now been fixed, it took from the 08 April to 08 May to do it. It took well over 40 phone calls, and 4 engineers appointments, ( the first 3 where no-shows).
Tip:- When phoning Orange Customer Support, ask them who they are transferring you to...
Home Phone Dept = Deal only with the home phone.
Technical Dept = Deal only with Broadband, Live-Box issues.
I was transferred to the Tech dept so many times, even though they knew it was a home phone problem, not sure wether this is a ploy just to get you off the phone. Be careful.
Glad you got your phone fixed we are having similar problems it all started in oct 2010 when our home phone not second line started buzzing really bad and crackling and you could hear other people on the line it would also ring at random times but doing 1471 i had not had a call also the adsl would drop connection and connect slow. We thougt it had got fixed over christmas but then we seen openreach in the junction box near our house now the lines that bad adsl wont work and the lines that bad we cant use it. I have sent countless emails to Orange to esculate this onto openreach as openreach wont deal with me but they just keep saying i need to ring them. They now say they know i have a line fault but i still need to ring them i have tried ringing from my mobile as the landline does not work to be cut off after 20mins. I have told Orange if i cant get this fixed i will need to go with another isp who can fix faults to that they say i will incur cancellation fees because my contract is not up but my contract is they provide me with a service which i am not getting so they have broke there contract with me?
