As with a lot of other people on these boards I've had major problems with Playstation3 online gaming (in particular COD4) in the evenings, although the friends I've been trying to play with online (and who are with other providers) don't encounter any such problems. The lag is hellish, I can't host games, and usually can't get into games hosted by friends. I've tried calling Orange, and was advised that 'PS3' was not a format that they supported, and that they could either put me through to MAC or PC support! I've emailed customer services twice, and never heard a thing back. Conclusion = Orange are a complete joke.
I'm now planning on jumping ship to a new broadband provider. So as to avoid the same problems again, can anyone advise on a better provider?
surely there are some tweaks that can made to the standard livebox settings?
my connections is fairly good
but im always end up with 3 bars on CoD and its useless as most people always have 4 bars.
any experts out there know how to reduce the lag? Firmware update? my nats are set to moderate rather than open, there must be something that can be improved.

tryed playing my game tonight and could not as my ping is normally 50 ish tonight it was 454 with an download speed of 0.20 and upload of 0.08

I had the exact same problems for my Xbox 360, I just opend up DMZ for my 360 and that works brilliant, saves you putting in every port, there aren't any security issues doing this for your games console. Good Luck

There's just masses of useless information and the one set of data that would be worthwhile for analysis, you haven't included.
Can you please post your router's stats.

Not in a bad way lol but ive been struggling with this for months!
Im with Orange and have the livebox etc and i often play my xbox and pc.
I play a lot of fifa now and used to play a lot of COD and UFC on my xbox, and on my pc i play counter strike-source.
i can only play fifa in the day and still lucky to get a completely lag free game but nothing worrying. i can play counter strike all the time but at night i get disconnection signs every 30 secs or so which causes me to freeze for about 5 seconds.... which isnt good for intense shoot em ups lol
with fifa i cannot play it atall at night its soooo irritating! i play games with my friends called pro clubs which is where we alll control one person on a team but if anybody quits the game is forfeited and i keep getting disconnected so my mates are started to get really annoyed with it. Ive had a new livebox sent through ive tried ethernet ive tried wireless, ive tried different wireless adapters! what next!? Orange tell me my connection if fine when they do a line test so i really dont know what to do anymore! im getting 6mb in day and at night it goes to about 4mb which is still fine so i dont get it. just did a test on "speedtester.BT.com" and my results were fine so i really dont know what to do anymore its driving me crazy!! please help me.. thanks

1. Go to your Livebox settings - 192.168.1.1 in address bar
2. Once in settings click on CONFIGURATION then click on ROUTER and you will see DMZ setup then you put your staic Xbox 360 ip address in there and click configure.
