Yes Orange have been in touch after I sent them an email, theyre sending out the message to BT than something needs doing about the line.
Got the internal wiring man coming tomorrow, sounds like theres nothing he can do to change this then but might just let him have a look anyhow to see if I have everything set up as well as I can for when it is working OK.
Looks like its fixed, the local engineer came this afternoon and said it was a fault with the copper bits on the socket and the filter so put some new parts in and results are now
