morning all, after the various email problems of the last few days I can tell you for certain that mine isn't working properly!
I can now connect to the server and it all looks like it's working. However, I've had no emails in the last 36 hours and I definitely should have received some (ebay and paypal transaction confirmations for example). I've sent test emails from variouis email accounts and the only one that reached me was from my wife's Orange email account. Looks like I'm cut off from all email services outside of the Orange system!
I hope they get this fixed soon - can't live without email!
Exactly the same scenario here. My freeserve email is now receiving messages (after changer serve settings to 'orangehome' and resending password) but my partner's fsworld email is still not receiving messages apart from those test messages I send from my freeserve email. None received for 36 hours. Sent an email to support but I don't expect to hear anytime soon. Changing server settings did at least allow those test messages in, and enabled test messages to be sent, but this is deeply worrying. Test messages I sent from my gmail address did not arrive, but also they have not bounced, so I guess they are lurking in the Orange system somewhere. ANyone hear back from Orange support?
I've not had anything going into, or out of, my fslife webmail account for the last 36 hours. No test messages arrive anywhere. Orange Help have stopped responding.
Made some enquiries. Orange as you may know is subsiduary of french company. Now managed since July 1st in the UK by a company called Everything Everywhere comprising executives from T Mobile and Orange. MS Pipa Dunn is the vice president of Orange Propositions.

I have been through the same nightmare, no emails for two days, left hanging on the phone paying 5p-50p per minute its an absolute rip off. Why do they not update their automated phone service and let us know they have a problem? Why do they charge us expensive phone calls when they have a fault on their server. I think I will explore the leglities of this. There was ahuge scam with expensive phone calls and competition lines a few years ago and I see simlariites. Orange have problems with their server, they don't make this problem known on their website or on their automated service. This FORCES hundreds/thousands of us to make very expensive phone calls. Why don't they answer immeadiatly? Are we charged for hanging on the line? After two days of stress I have at last been given an Orange free number its 0800801080 WHY IS THIS NOT PUBLISISED ON THEIR WEBSITE? they refuse to compensate me for my phone bills unless i have 7 consequtive days of problems. well enough is enough I have just cancelled my standing order and switched to BT option 1 free for Three months unlimited anytime calls etc BUT most important of all a free 0800 number for technical suport and NO call centres. I feel empowered!! I hope this email helps other people who have undergone similar stress and frustration. Goodbye Orange!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Started working again this morning (Sat 28th, 11.30am), as old messages and test messages start to trickle in. Fingers crossed. For those still having trouble, I suggest checking server settings here:

I'm still having problems accessing my outgoing mail server. Outlook 2007 comes up with the following message: "the server responded 550 5.7.1 Message Content" when you try and test the connection. Is anyone else suffering from a similar issue?
Just had this reply from customer support (my email is now working again):

I have had the same problems with email in recent days. For me it occurred at the same time as I was setting up an iPod to receive emails from my fsnet email acoount. As I was having problems with this, I contacted the support desk via the website and they replied promptly with advice which seemed to get the iPod working. However when I tried to use my PC and Windows Live Mail to receive messages a few hours later, I had the same troubles as other people have experienced and I was also unable to access my emails via Orange webmail. Fearing that using an iPod and a PC to access the same account had somehow corrupted the account, I contacted Orange via the website and the following day received a message that everything was fixed.
My experience with using Orange support has generally been positive but then I use emails for convenience rather than a necessity so a delay in getting a response is not an issue for me. However I would agree with the sentiment that a service status on the Website would be useful and would also save Orange support from being deluged with problem reports.
In comparison, using the Apple website to get advice or support for the iPod is really frustrating as they don't offer email support and their generous offer to get an expert to call you back is only available in the US and Canada. I know Apple products are supposed to be intuitive and user-friendly but when I couldn't set up the iPod to use email it was really frustrating not to have some means of contacting them.
I have had the same problems. No emails since Thursday lunchtime. Finally started trickling through Saturday morning at around 11 am. Now they are flooding in as I am receiving the same emails (so far) 10 times. As I am a member of a deals forum I get lots of email alerts daily. So far I have deleted 10,000 emails. Yes that is right 10,000. And every time it connects it downloads another few hundred. Don't know what was worse non at all or spending all afternoon deleting the bl***y things.
