i would ditch Orange if i was you Sky are a pretty good option aswell i dont have any other LLU in my exchange which is why i have given them so long if i had other fast options i would have been gone by now
@salrmoor dont hold your breath about the manual profile thats what they were telling me for about 2 weeks
i have finaly had some movement though. i woke up this morning and was on a 2meg profile so hopefully things are on the way up for me now
Looks like the DLM is active on your line. Expect to be on 4 meg within the next 2 days, mind you I got stuck in 4 meg. Hopefully you will be like tinytim and get all the way up to a decent speed rather than get stuck.
If Orange are reading this, when will the offical statement be ready?
Just had a call from Martin in senior faults - he informed me that I am now synched at a 2MEG speed, which kicked in at 10 this morning. At work now, so cannot check, but if that's true, then the DLM might be actually working again...
Would make some sense of Yackle is also getting a speed increase as well...
i really hope this new DLM actualy works i was getting really sick of 1meg broadband things are looking promising if everyone on here has had a resync this morning, hopefully we will all be back up to speed shortley
It has gone down to 9 before, but with no increase in my speed.
I asked Orange last week why I could not get it lowered to 6 but I was told that I would be told officially the reason why not, rather than over the phone, still waiting for that email, as well as the email which is supposed to be an official statement regarding Orange, the DLM and what is happening.

david (Exec office) seems to be helping, got my speed up to 2meg today with a promise of further increase, noise margin dropped from 21.9 to 9.9, told my line could stand more so will contact me again in a couple of days to check
It is obviously on the line now with the "new improved" code.
Steady between 10 meg and 12 meg for 10 days with a blip at 9 meg and now the DLM cannot wait to get started on my line. Grrrrrr!!
Going to reboot and try and get back to 12 meg but if the DLM decides that is a resync I could be in trouble.
reboot worked , back to 12 meg. Not sure what to make of all of this!
Either the DLM keeps me at 12 meg or if it doesn't I will have to reboot each time my speed drops.
If that is the case, might as well switch the router off and turn it on each morning and sync at 12 meg instead of letting it drop to slower speeds overnight! Thats if the DLM can recognise a switched off router has not being faulty!
still no improvement for me yet. 30db noise margin and still 1Meg.
When I do a reboot I have noticed the noise margin increases by about 4-5db. If that is happening for you BBK then maybe thats why you get your speed backup to 12Meg.
I crafted a Cat5e UTP modem cable and my noise margin stays much more stable now, even over night. (Previously it was dropping from 30db to around 18db with no speed increases)!
Maybe that could keep your connection up at 12Meg? It seems like the longer you leave the connection active the more noise gets picked up when using the crappy supplied modem leads...
Thanks folks - I suspect my line is still classed as 'up to 8Mb' and that nothing was changed when I moved to the 20Mb package. Am I right in interpreting BBK's message that if DLM is active on the line I should see a resync? or is there any other way I can tell if DLM is active as my speed has remained constant except for the initial setup.
So could you please tell me where the log file for the SE572 router is?
The record on the router itself is quite limited and full of TR069 'inform fail etc' messages every 2 minutes - is that a fault?
