Have just upgraded my pc to a Windows 7 laptop as my old desktop died but am having problems connecting to the livebox. I called tech support who said they would do a manual download of the livebox software but I also seem to have started having connection issues so they have been unable to do it.
The connection keeps dropping - the @ light flashes slowly for about 5-10 secs then quickly for the same amount of time and so on. A factory reset didn't fix it so they raised a line test request.
I've now been stuck in groundhog day with them for two weeks! Every day or so I get a text to tell me to phone as they have an update but when I ring they are suprised that the problem isn't solved, we spend 15 minutes doing resets and answering the same questions and they request another line test! When will they realise that this isn't fixing the problem?? Complaining does no good, I just get put on hold for 10 minutes while they fetch a supervisor who simply rattles off a pointless appology and the puts me back to the tech person!!!
I have noticed that since the fault started the landline has become really muffled/crackly too could this be connected?? HAve tried swapping the filters but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Also the laptop shows the wanadoo network on it's available list and says it has excellent signal strength but when I enter the requested security key (WEP) it says it can't connect. If there is no broadband coming into the livebox how can it see this network???
I'm now really confused and really fed up with wasting money phoning the support team who are completetly useless. Any advice would be really appreciated!!
