I am having similar problems. I have been a customer for years and I have noticed recently that the internet is terribly slow in the evenings. I have rung Tech Support with no joy. The only time it is any good is early at the weekends, before Orange start throttling the bandwidth. I am not a heavy user, but now find I can't watch movies via Iplayer, Sky, youtube, so it is a real pain in the a***!!
Anyone got any ideas how to approach this issue?

In fairness, I've just tested it now and it's back up to a somewhere near reasonable level, but what causes temporary crapouts like that?
I'd say their really sh*t equipment. I would urge you to see how many more months you've got left of your contract, and get out asap.
If your exchange is LLU-enabled, I would absolutely recommend that you go with 02. I did just that and haven't looked back since. I'm getting on average 16/17 meg regardless of the time of day (but then I am close to the exchange, but overall, 02 customer service is brilliant).
