yeah the connection has been set down to 2mb which will be change. i far as i can see the BT fault has still not been fixed cause just checked the sam knows site again and the llu of ornage is still not available.
i know that the noise etc is ok for the distance i am from the exchange and shouldnt affect my connection to make it a little of a 1/3 of 2mbps. i will update once i have spoken to someone didnt get my call last night.
they say they ran several tests but it has taken them a month and two BT engineers to find a fault i am speaking to one of the eculation team tonight to find out what the results of the tests were. i will update once i have found out info on it.
i am concerned about llu not being on my exchange which i will also ask about.
ok well they now say i am on ipstream and that the exchange has to much traffic, something BT are trying to fix no dates been given at all. i am glad they are giving a fully refund for everything but i am just so frustrated not just for the lack of help we got, or the time of having really rubbish connection but the fact that it took me and my wife a lot of time to get the situation to this point. i am giving them til monday next week to contact us with some good news if we dont then i will be cancelling my contract as i am not getting the service paid for
i have just got off the phone with Orange. i have had two calls giving me completely different info.
i spoke to the esqulation team and they say that there is a capacity issue on my exchange and BT are dealing with the issue and it should be sorted asap.
then i spoke to the customer care team and they said they dont sugar coat things and it looks like it wont be sorted til the end of this year into early next.
well to me this is a big difference and i am looking at my options on where to go in terms of cancelling contracts and changing to new suppliers.
i am on a ipstream connection and there is llu available at my exchnage i was just wondering if changing to an llu supplier could this make a difference with the capacity issue or will it be no difference. also now it looks like my connection is capped to 2mbps and was wondering if this goes once on a new isp.
LLU is always better than IPStream....there's no dreaded DLM wanting to change your profile on a whim
From your telecon with customer care team, my guess is that Orange need to buy more capacity from BTw and that takes several months....OK escalations were not telling a lie, it will "be sorted asap" but I reckon it'll be 3 or 4 months.
What LLU providers are available at your exchange ?

i dont think this is a capasity issue personally i think you line is stuck in a retrain stage or something like that. im my experience there a capasity issue dont drop your speed massively
i think that when BT have give us information they dont really care what they say after all they havnt got to deal with you shouting at them.
and i know someone who owns a small ISP and if someone wants broadband off him he buys the space as and when he needs it so a dont think Orange need to buy more space
honistly you need to talk to someone who knows what they are on about and also have the ability to explain it to a child and then get their extension and only deal with them

i have spoken to a couple of people that seem to have a better idea about what i am saying but most of them sound like a script and have no opinions about anything.
i am going to call them back tonight to see if something can be done.

here is a new test i have tried might be of use the speed has improved slightly but it is early morning so that might be the reason will do one later in morning and then one in afternoon to see if it makes a difference.
it doesnt seem to have made much difference if any
well i am guessing there is a million things i can do to scrap a tiny bit of connection speed and to be honest the problem lies with Orange and they just keep throwing me excuse that its bts fault. i have started to talk to a few other disgrunteled customers on the same exchange as me. i have someone i know who works for our local newspaper and they will be running a story about broadband speed promises and what people are actually getting. if needed can i get him to contact you through this forum they would like the point of view of someone who works with annoyed customers and what needs to be done to customer services etc.
also the tech guy could speak to a manager within Orange to let them know the plan i have to contact media about this as i am sick and tired of getting its not me its them excuses. i can only say that this experience has made me very interested in how big isps are getting away with selling a large proportion of customers a below rubbish service which in turn puts the customer in a difficult position of either canceling their internet connection or taking them to court, not a nice position to be it has to be said.
