I've been having similar problems but the suggestion above isn't working for me.
I keep getting "We apologise but this account is currently unavailable." on webmail. None of my email is downloading at all now. I've emailed them twice but they haven't the basic manners to reply (it's been nearly two weeks).
I don't know whether to change everything to a different address I've got in case this is all fixed in the next day or two.
Thank you so much for the instructions - and for their clarity!
Now emails are coming into OE, just need to sort out how to get them onto webmail in the first place...
It's the ones you don't know you've not received that are the worrying ones... (I know what I mean)
I'm glad it helped. I would suggest getting in contact with the Orange Response team regarding your missing mails. They seem a bit more switched on to getting things done than the "computer says no people" at tech services.

Thank U, Miguel! You've saved us all! Changed my user name and hey-presto e-mails started coming in! Just makes u wonder what are that lot in the tech department being paid for?

Is anyone else getting the same error message?
The username change is aimed at email clients. The walkthrough specifically at Outlook express. If you are having problems directly logging into Orange webmail through your Internet browser, then the above won't be of any help to you. I would suggest that you have a problem with your account and that you would be best contacting Orange direct. Be that response team, tech email, or phone helpline. I have listed them in order of effectiveness. The key here is persistence.
hi all
we are having the same problem, both at work and me at home. we have just received an email today dated 1st sept !!!
at work we have 3 comps all same account and the two vista comps (using windows mail) are not receiving however the XP one is ? not sure whether there are any answers in that.
I have tried all the switching off norton etc, check settings etc but nothing has worked, also just tried that change username but that didnt work.
emailed Orange got response in 24 hours telling me to check nothing stuck disable firewall !!! not very useful.
anybody else had any luck with them ?
I can beat that. I've just had 2 mails turn up this morning from the 30th of August! I'm hoping they are just the stuck ones from the original problem as mails seem to be coming through more or less instantly now.
DebbieClark17. Can you log into your Orange mail direct through your internet browser and are all your mails there? Have you tried copying the XP settings directly over to your Vista (yuk) machines?
Hi Miguel
yes I can log into Orange mail through internet and yes the emails are there. No i havent tried copying xp settings ... do you mean all the account settings ?
i have emailed Orange again saying there suggestions didnt work, and when can we expect this to be resolved, will see what comes back

Yup, try copying the XP account settings over to Vista. I think you would be better off calling them for a quick response. Unfortunately seeing you can log into your account, and so can XP, they are going to suggest the problem lies with your Vista machines
Yes probably will try and pass the buck... but looks like i am not alone judging by all the above threads !!!, i am also having the same problems at home, which is also vista, but it does seem strange that the problem is the same. have you heard of problems with vista regarding this prob and why has it suddenly started happening only 2 weeks ago.... the same as all these other people....

I've heard of loads of problems with Vista. That's partly why I went MAC and put my PC's back to Xp. It's also why Microsoft was so fast to get Windows 7 out, they knew Vista was crap.
That's not to say that this is your problem. I've had the very same issue as you in
the past and it started working again without doing anything. Of course Orange said it must have been my end. My suggestion of trying the XP settings is to eliminate everything before you ring them. There's nothing worse than being on the helpline and finding out it was your end all a long.

You are not alone!!! I have XP and today got just Three email from 30 Aug!!!! emails sent to me today and yesterday are still stuck on the webserver! and will not download!! I am getting majorly miffed off!! it has been ages now and they seem to deny (or bury head in sand) that it is a problem of theirs! but we cannot all have changed our settings/added virus programs/changed firewalls etc etc I know that I have not changed anything!
It was a relief to know that I am not alone in having problems with Orange e-mail. It used to work so that mails came to each of my wife's, daughter's or my PC, now it hardly comes into any of them and web mail, what a lottery? Mails are dug out of the 'orange lucky dip pool' when they are up to ten days old. For example items from the 29th August onwards became available today 9th September, some were presented for a second or third time, but I fear that some have not appeared at all.
With a little luck I can go round to each machine and do the almost anonymous log in and bring copies of most messages down to each machine, then delete the mails that do not apply to the user in question. What a pain!
If that was not bad enough I also get telephone calls asking why I have rejected messages when this wrong message comes from errors generated by the failing folks at Orange and even worse the message has sometimes managed to fight its way through to my PC.
A shambles is a mild way to describe the mess and there appears to be no effort to sort it out after a couple of weeks of disgustingly bad service.
And now they are going to team up with, or should that be ruin T Mobile!
Richard
Thank you, Miguel - I have emailed this address this morning. No response 8 hours later and definitely hundreds of emails simply missing.
It's difficult to know what to do to make more of an impact on Orange.
Anyway, your help has been much appreciated!
