I've had the same problem with COD4, PS3 and Orange broadband.
Bought my PS3 late 2007 with COD4. Enjoyed great speeds at all times during the day with wireless. Mid 2008, I started to suffer from lag/slow speeds in the evening so I wired my PS3 to the livebox. In the last few months the evening speeds are a complete joke meaning online gaming is impossible. Phoned some idiot in Bombay, who I could barely hear to tell me that in times of heavy traffic bandwidth can be limited.....f*cking joke! When am I meant to use it as I work during the day!
Counting the days until I can leave Orange (24th November) and go to another ISP. I have loads of PSN friends and not one is on Orange and not one suffers the same problems as I do.

Had internet problems 2 weeks ago lost internet
got it sorted after speaking to india several times and being treated like an imbasile
now cant play cod 4 At all as ping is now 250-290
before lost internet it used to be 75 on average.
called Orange and they dont want to know and say its my PC

nvidia 8800 GTX grafix card it aint that
