that's why i can't understand why it so high,cause my mate that i work with,has Talktalk,and lives in shildon too,and he is getting 7.0mbps download all the time and a fewpeaple who i know that is on Orange in shildon said they have no problem i wounder if BT is capping my line for some reason!!!
All so phoned Orange lasnight and did a line test they saying it's able of 7.0mbps so i let them get on with what ever they do and no my livebox is saying this now

In order that your email is forwarded to me quickly, please add "Jonathan Orange Response" in the subject field and also in the first line of your mail.

The decrease in speed is because Orange have increased your target SNR....see your SNRM has gone up to 15.8dB from 10.1dB.
They've also dropped you down to ADSL2 but it's your attenuation which is the problem and only BT can answer that one....attenuation is basically an indication of the line length from you to the exchange.
Whether you're on ADSL2 or ADSL2+ at 60dB you won't see 7Mb
thanks for the reply's i just got off the phone from Orange as they phoned me,and explained what was happing and going on.
To my suprise they said there engineers are working on the prob,but also stated that i am on there llu network and now i am only possible to get 1mb max download,or just untill they do more test,to try and improve the speed.
The guy on the phone asked my if i would want to be put back on BT wholesale line or stay on the LLU.But Orange have actually noticed my line eas fluxuating 5 times in the past year and done nothing,or even notified me about it.
H said the only way i could atcheave the higher speed's (wait for it),would to change my package,or cancel it,and phone up and start a new contract,(which because i am well over my old contract by 1 and half years when i got the livebox.
They said if i went back to BT wholesale i would only get at the max of 0.5 mb download.
Some how i think i might just go with someone else cause the amswer's just seem to be like politions
They also stated that it would be finsihed by 7pm tonight,well just hope and see!!!!!

The thing is when i posted the very first showing of my live box the upstream was 605,and downstream was 2000i9sh or jus a little more
What have they done.If my attenuation db of 61.5 would that mean i am very far away from the exchange or is BT been a big pain in the bott!!!! Cause i am only 1447 meteres away from the exchange!!!!

This is what I can't understand, if you mean straight line or by road then your attenuation would be maximum 40dB but probably nearer 30dB.
Also when you were on ADSL2+ this was Orange LLU not a BT product...your exchange will not convert to WBC until Q3 2011. What Orange have done is put you back onto their standard LLU connection.
It's very unusual to be on a BT product if the exchange is LLU-enabled because to buy in BT's product is expensive and affects Orange's profitability.
