I'm in the process of building a new pc, and i'd like to know if going through the original installation process with my wanadoo cd and speedtouch modem would encouter any problems Thought i'd ask before doing this.

Make sure you download Microsoft updates Service pack 3 etc if your using XP, and Service pack 1 for Vista.
If the cd hasn't got the latest drivers for it then get the latest drivers for the speedtouch modem HERE as Thomson don't support that modem anymore.
As long as you install the latest drivers for it it should work ok.
Make sure you download the right option for your OS.
Good luck

One thing to add, the advantage of downloading the drivers and avoiding using the cd is that you won't have the dreaded Wanadoo software and branding on your pc.
If you have to use the CD when you insert it stop it from running, then open it up yourself and locate the modem drivers on it and install that way all the crap on the CD won't install with it.

Thanks steve, you've been a big help. One more thing if i may, regarding the link to the driver page, i'm a bit confused as to which to download
the ' Speed Touch 330 USB ADSL Modem Drivers' or the ' Alcatel Speed Touch USB ADSL Modem Drivers ' for xp ( i'll be installing xp on my new pc). I have that silver coloured modem with speedtouch 330 printed underneath, however in device manager the driver is 'alcan5wn.sys'.....any idea's?
