My parents are currently trying to connect a second laptop to thier Livebox, the new laptop is Windows Vista, and they are having problems becuase the Livebox is configured to use XP.
Would anyone have any ideas if / how we can set up the second laptop?
Im not sure I understand what you mean by configured for XP. Any device in theory should connect to it using the correct protocols. The livebox itself is not based on the xp os.
If you mean the Orange setup disks you have do not support vista. These are not needed to connect.
Put your livebox into pairing mode for 10 minutes by pressing button 1. Search for the livebox network and try to connect. When it asks for the security key, use the one printed on the label on the bottom of the livebox. It should connect successfully and remember the connection for future use.

I don't know if your problem is sorted now, but if not and you are not going to connect by wifi you can use the TV over internet socket for a second PC.
All you need to do is go into the configuration pages of the Livebox and disable the TV over internet. It is a very simple operation and if you need the details I, or someone else, will let you know how to do it...
