Another ***.freeserve.co.uk account holder and on broadband with Orange for a few years as well (until they told me I had exceeded my Unliimited bandwidth and threatened to cut me off!)
Now happily with o2 (now Sky)/Be but maintain my Freeserve account for emails for the usual reasons.
Up until last night as long as I dial in every few months I've been able to use the Orange email servers via my Be Broadband account. At about 7.30pm that stopped and since then, although I can dial in to my account and mail behaves normally I can't reach the servers unless I am connecting from an Orange IP address.
It's still a new enough event that it may be an error at the mail server but it does look as if my accessing mail via another ISP is being actively blocked.
Is anyone else in the same situation?
Has there been a change to the T&C's at Orange that say this is happening?

I am also with o2 (now Sky) and dial up once every Three months to keep my Orange (actually freeserve) email account active. I download my emails to Outlook 2007 but have to use webmail to send.
As of yesterday - not sure what time, Outlook failed to connect to the incoming Orange servers to receive my emails as usual. I couldn't access Orange webmail either - just got a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error when I attempted to login from the Orange home page.
But the interesting thing is that if I dial up, not only does Outlook connect and download my emails, but I can also access Orange webmail too. Disconnect the dial-up connection and webmail is no longer available.
Given how Orange work I'm prepared to suspect cock-up rather than conspiracy although as a company I can see blocking other ISPs would make commercial sense.
Also weirdly I can reach my Freeserve Inbox by 'phone using 3G (also via o2 (now Sky)) so possible the blockage could be at Be.
I've had similar issues before but they have been because I forgot to restore my account & didn't last as long.
I've got the same problem. I've got broadband from Be, Mozilla Thunderbird has stopped being able to download any email, and both Internet Explorer and Opera will not access in using webmail... Even the help and support page doesn't open!

I'm with 02 and can access the 0range site, 0range webmail and download to OE.

Thanks, that's helpful - more parts of the jigsaw - possibly a problem at Orange's end rather than outright blocking then & might simply be a case of waiting
Have just come off IRC with Be - apparently their routing to 0range is currently down - looks like this is a temporary annoyance than a long term issue. More if I get anything.
From the DS Broadband forum in relation to access problems to that web site :
Quote:
Update Saturday - it now looks like this is a routing issue on the Orange Broadband Network please complain to your ISP if you know someone having a problem with this issue. This is unfortunately out of our control but we are complaining as well on your behalf.

Interesting that quite a few users are in the same boat as me, I started off on Freeserve (even was one the trialist for ASDL), moved to bulldog when they started offering 2mb but then dumped the, at the start of the year once Tiscali got hold of Bulldog/Pipex and moved to BE, have great service so for from BE, but like lots of other I still have an active freeserve account, thankfully I have managed to move 99% of mail to my own domain etc but still get a trickle of freeserve mail
