Hehe Thanks for that Elightement - I still have no pop email but least its good to hear from others
almost guaranteed Orange have changed some settings and not bothered to mention it ..do a good old Google and you may sort it ...my prob was user name had changed dont think they can change your password .see what error message you get give it some thought then just maybe you will sort it ....sorted mine only took 3 days L.O.L. modern technology is so good and perfect innit?
I don't have an Orange mobile. I've been using the internet service from when the company was Freeserve - hence my @freeserve address, is it wanadoo now or is it still Orange? I can't remember.
Anyway, I've tried to buy something online today using my paypal account ... but I've forgotten the password ... that's okay, Paypal have kindly sent a reminder to my email address .... the one I can f&*ing access ...
Absolutely pathetic service from Orange/Wanadoo/Whatever they are calling themselves now ... after I don't know how many years of being a customer I'm seriously considering throwing in the towel and finding myself a new isp provider. But that still won't help me access my emails will it???
I don't have Orange broadband but I have an Orange mobile and signed up for webmail as Yahoo Mail went through a period of being flaky and losing emails.
Orange has been unreliable about letting me in for months due to a "proxy error from an upstream server"
For about Three days last week I was getting the same error message from here:
It all works - again BUT, and this is a big but, it now identifies you to the recipient by your mobile phone number
e.g. your email shows as 07*********@orange.net instead of name.name@orange.net
At least that's what happens if you only use Orange.net
Talk about protecting security - this is giving more info to the recipient than you may want.
If you try to use the website to change the number to your name it says you already have that alias.
Doh!
Further to my previous of this, I complained about this and they're having a real difficulty trying to change mine back to the <firstname.lastname@orange.net> - I can't believe its not a 2 minute job for someone in their technical department to change it, but they reckon its going to take a week to sort out!!!
As of yesterday my email is now fully functional again - I guess it was just down to Orange recent server work.
I also emailed them again the other day at the Executive Office email address and sent them a link to this thread ( wonder if that helped at all )
Also the executive office have now rang me twice but Ive missed the calls as I was at work but will be ringing them tomorrow.
Oh Dear ! - It would be nice if Orange actually told us what has changed so we can at least know if its our software that needs tweaking or whatever because they have changed stuff.
After me emailing them this link I have a funny feeling they ARE watching the thread.
