I wondered if you could help me as I am at the end of my tether!
For 6 weeks now I have had the problem where my @ light has been flashing fast and then slow and I really cant face ringing that stupid Orange number again and going through the same diagnostics for the 1000th time!!
Basically @ flashes fast and slow over, over, over again but when I ring Orange and they say they will do a line test about 2 hours later it starts flashing slow... i need to go into the inventel page and my username has disappeared and has PPP_ something or other in there instead, so when i put my details in, it is all tickety boo.
However, I turn the modem off as I only use it for about an hour a day and noone else is in my flat (I am very poor and electricity is uber expensive), go to turn it back on and its flashing fast and slow again!
I think its something to do with the livebox and possibly the firmware (or whatever it is, I am definitely no expert!) but Orange have just been making me do factory resets, sent me new cables, new adapters etc etc.
It really is best to leave the router on....they are built for 24/7 running and the amount of power they consume is minimal. You do far more harm than good by switching it on and off.
Try it for a few days and I'm sure you'll see the difference.
