After lodging a complaint about Orange to the ISPA about my abismoly slow speeds, I got a phonecall from Orange a few days later. This is what came out of it:
- 'We have just finished a changeover in systems this which changes your and many other packages into a 'IPSTREAM MAX' package.'
- They basically explained that even though I had a 5MB account with them that they felt it OK to change my package to this IPSTREAM MAX package that has a download limit of 2MB.
- The guy came accross as if he couldn't care less about this injustice and that if I wanted to leave Orange I should feel free to do so.
This is surely illegal - changing the terms of a contract I pay for, yet what can I do about it, keep complaining - that worked!
One more indication that something is causing Orange to change policies/strategies.
Contractually, they don't need to supply you with a specific technology, they could switch you from LLU ADSL to LLU ADSL2+ to BT IPstream as often as they like.
What is concerning is their recent attitude to losing customers that don't "fit in" to their grand plan......whatever that may be.

There are some fantastic ISP s out there that provide fat, stable connections.
Orange do not do that.
I strongly suggest moving to one of them to get a real speed.
Get shut of Orange they are crap, never been so happy since I changed to another ISP, constant downloads of 6MB, upstream 700kbs, no dropped connections, no phoning (excuse the language) tech support to try and sort out why I was getting such slow speeds.
In the last 6 months with them my phone bill just to them, came to over £25
But even now I am getting bills from them for a service I no longer have, my wife says it's because they like me and want to keep in touch.
