Earlier this morning I unsubscribed from an on-line service, resulting in their automated system sending out several confirmation e-mails.
I got the first one through immediately, the next was delayed by 10 minutes, the next one by another 20 minutes, and the next one after that by an whole hour. Since then further mails have come through, all delayed by a round number of minutes. The latest has arrived about 3 hours after it was initially sent, and there may still be more to come.
I've noted similar problems with other automated E-mails from other sites, with some being delayed by many hours. There was one regarding a forthcoming on-line discussion on a messageboard that arrived after the discussion had completed - most annoying as I really wanted to take part.
I've been receiving emails several hours after the time they were sent for many months now, but I've just had one which has got to be a record:
Sent 24/06/2008 11:34
Received 25/06/2008 17:22
That's right, 30 hours late!
Even slower than the Royal Mail.
Can anyone beat that ?
I think it's time for me to find a new ISP. This is the final straw.
