Im wondering is it just me thats keeps getting these issues or if someone else has had the same.
I manage to connect my router adsl netgear rangmax to Orange. but i cant seem to connect to the internet. a 91 ip address is issued. tried al the dns settings it connects fine but still no internet
i have tried this on 3 other pc's (hard wired) same problem.
Im sure its a line problem but Orange tech support are as useful as a chocolate teapot.
rang them first time but as it happens the tools they required were not operational (tea break)
rang them second time but they juist could not hear me.
has anyone experieneced this before?
can anyone shed some light on this?
Errrm... Your connecting with both wireless and wired connection??
Both don't work.. You are getting a connection but your IE won't load up... Correct?
Did you use a static IP address before.. Could this have anything to do with it..
Make sure all your routers configuration stuff is as it should be regarding SSID's & Security such as WEP & WPA... However if you can connect to the router it shouldn't be this.. Could you connect before with the Livebox?? Or did your internet just never work.. -.-

im not using the wireless side of its just wired. all the settings are correct.
ive tried with and without the dns settings. the router status shows me as connected.
but when i open up IE i see page cannot be found. this is the same across the 3 pcs.
Not sure I can offer any technical answer to this but I too have had this problem for the last couple of weeks - in fact had no internet access last weekend although my belkin router was responding in the same way as you outline. I rebooted my router and that has (sometimes) corrected the issue. The main error screen I received suggested the DNS may be unavailable. Interestingly I was on 512kps up till four weeks ago and have had a really good level of access since doing the MTU tweaks suggested elsewhere on this site - then I was doing my weekly speedtest and it would appear my local exchange has been LLU'd as my speed is now 1MB but far less stable than it's been over the last six months.
Also worth noting is that although I couldn't connect to the internet I could still run Skype (?).
I too am having the same problem. I am an IT Engineer and cant figure this one out!! I have tried DrTCP on my (wired) desktop, that goes to a Netgear DG834PN RangeMax router. I can access bbc, filehippo and this site but not Google. It did the same thing about this time last year and DrTCP fixed it, but has not this time.
I have tried every available and concievable MTU setting and none work!!
I've been having this problem too, I am in the east end of Newcastle upon Tyne anyone else in that area as it maybe a locality thing?
It sounded like a DNS problem to me (Skype working and my email working because I'd put the IP addresses of the mail servers in just for this type of occurrence!). So I have put in a couple of other DNS addresses (I don't know where I got them from or who they belong to) but they seem to have solved the problem. So feel free to try them:

I have the same issue. Last time I had an issue the ppp server was done for almost a month and I mamaged to resolve the problem myself by visitng forums. I am by no means a computer techie.
I am connected but cannot seem to connect to any sites.
Any answer anyone. There are usually simple, once you know it, resolutions.
hi all have been having same probs, but changed dns settings but now can,t get ps3 to work anyone know if i have to change anything on there as well
thanks
In this link it seems to say that it is a national issue that will take 24 hours. This was posted at 14:00 but I didn't look to see what time zone it was from.
I was using the internet last bight with no problems.
I had this problem in Jan and solved it by using this forum. The solution was then to delete all the DNS addresses. Now the problem has reoccured. Logs in but cannot access my home page or any other websites. No point in phoning Orange just an expensive waste of time. I f I cannot get it sorted in the next 2 days I am going down the ornage shop with my mobiles and threatening to give them back for breach of contract unless they sort.

I wish I could work out how to start a new post here.
Anyway, just to let you all know I am connected and probably with a much quicker connection, got my fingers and toes crossed of course!!
Anyone, else managed to connect and notice a quicker connection???

That great, I am really happy for you.
Fancy giving us any positive input in to how you have such a fanstatic, quick working internet connection as we are all without.
