I have 195.92.195.94 as primary and 208.67.220.220 as alternate.
Seems like all Orange DNS servers are down at the moment, so http://configuration.adsl redirects to OpenDNS - use 192.168.1.1 to access your livebox config instead.

Im currently using the IP address of this website, i cant actually change the DNS server settings. There is a problem somewhere in windows vista which wont allow me to see any connections in the "Network Connections" folder. Does anyone know another way around this?
Had to register on this forum to say thank you to the Tall One for the alternate DNS address thingy. I was pulling my hair out with my connections/equipment etc (not really knowing what to look at), until I came here. The solution has worked perfectly and hotmail and all other sites seem fine so far. It's just a good thing this site was working !!!
I, too, had to register to thank TheTallOne for his advice here. It is outrageous that so simple a solution cannot be made known by Oange - or even some ready acknowledgment of the problem. In any case, many thanks for the solution.
I've had the problem of connecting to anything all weekend long and changing the DNS server settings solved the problem!
What also amazes me is that if you go to their broadband service status page it claims all is fine ! GRRRRRRRRRR!
This is the last straw and as soon as I am out of the contract period I'm off to another provider ! I am thinking of Talktalk - I know it is nearly as bad as Orange but at least it will be free as opposed to feeding the coffers of Orange for a service that:-
A) Cannot be relied upon
B) Is costly
C) Has script monkeys for a support center.
D) Does not provide a good infra-structure
E) Has no where near the speed you pay for
F) Appears to restrict traffic it does not like (e.g. Bittorrent).
I realise that I am preaching to the converted on the above points but I am ANGRY beyond belief at the poor service that I have suffered over the years in the hope it would get better. It clearly is not going to do so !
I'm going to be voting with my feet and moving just as soon as possible !
thanks for the alternate dns settings.
i think it is obvious Orange are having major problems with their dns servers - i'm in chelmsford, essex and have been having trouble for a week or so, since they upgraded me to 8mb.
i phoned them this am and got thru on the "are you thinking of leaving Orange" option - i chose this because you can guarantee you won't be held in a queue.
predictably the muppet that answered the phone had no idea what a dns server is, and offered me a line test. i pointed out this would be a waste of time, but sure go ahead. she has now escalated me to tech support who will phone me back in the next 48 hours, -at least i avoid their criminal 50 p/min charges!!
think i need a new supplier asap - anyone recommend the most mas friendly one?
There's now a recorded message up on their "support" line about this problem:
08448 738 586 then options 1, 5, 4, 1.
Something along the lines of:
"we are aware of an issue but don't have an estimated repair time for this problem so please retry your internet connection from time to time". Genius.
