Hi guys, sorry if this in wrong place but here goes.....
I installed the Orange Livebox for a friend, using the USB Wi-Fi device supplied by Orange ( sorry forgot to not make/model)
Having got the PC to connect to the Livebox, as soon as I try to load browser the WiFi connection drops out.
Also, the wireless phone on the same socket has no dial tone - just a whine - if Livebox plugged into same socket.
The phone does work OK when plugged into the filter supplied.

Any ideas?
Ok.. So to clarify... Is the Livebox in the Master socket?? You have the filter plugged in to the socket with the phone and the router plugged into the filter..
When you open the browser do you get a slow flashing light on the router when the connection drops??
As you mentioned it was a cordless phone.. Try changing the channel number.. As the frequencies could be the same and causing interference.. Change to either 1, 6 or 11 for now.. See if that helps..
Let me know if that solves anything.. As i'm not too sure what could be causing a drop as soon as IE is opened.. -.-
Sorry about lack of detail, but I wasn't in front of the offending PC when I posted.
However... I assume this is the master BT socket and we have tried it with the phone turned off - both the base unit and the receiver - no difference.
The Livebox has a rapidly flashing @ light and steady ! light. The wireless USB device has a steady light. The last attempt showed signal strength to be 63 percent.
I had a chance to tweak the settings on my friend's Livebox and got the wireless connection to it to stay up
However, when I try to get beyond this to the internet things dont work out.
Info below:
The @ and aerial lights initially settle down to flashing slowly ( about once per second ).
I can connect wirelessly to the Livebox Configuration screens using 192.168.1.1 as an address in the web browser. Once I've done this I noted the ADSL setting started at starting PPP, then went to synchronization and finally displayed an address of 81.77.161.97.
After a few seconds the status dropped back to synchronization and the @ light began to flash rapidly. Finally the browser drops back to the "page cannot be displayed" message and further comms with the Livebox fail.
Rebooting the Livebox only repeats the above process.
