If anybody could help it'd be much appreciated. My mother (against my recommendation may I add, as I have Orange and it's a nightmare!) has just got the wireless broadband package and it's been left to me to install it.
Everything is fine apart from Orange not emailing her username or password which we have to call for later. But in addition I had a little go of the installation disk and when inputting the security code a message tells me that the code input is incorrect. Now I've checked and double checked, ensuring the numbers are numbers and letters are letters.
Is there anything I can do to reset or get the box to accept or am I doomed to spending 50p a minute for an hour trying to get all this information?
I'm only asking because I had exactly the same problem when I got my livebox a year back and when I called up I got a totally different security code to the one that was on the router.

Good news is you can save yourself a lot of money here instead of phoning Orange..
To start a fresh with the Livebox... Hold the "1" button on the livebox.. THen switch off the mains... LEave the button pressed... Wait for 10 seconds.. Then switch the power back on.. Whilst still with the "1" pressed.. After about 10-20 seconds.. YOu'll get a nice light sequence.. It's ok to let go of the button now..
You won't be able to connect to the internet without the username/password. This should have come in the post on a sheet of paper... So you'll need to contact them about that..
To connect to Livebox.. I'm guessing you want to connect a laptop??? Depending what OS this is running depends on how you connect..
Vista
Right click the network icon in the bottom right of the taskbar
Click Connect to a network.
Select the network you want to connect to..
Double click this network and it will bring up a box that asks for your network key. Is this where you get into difficulties??
Click the show characters box to make sure you input correctly.. Turn on caps lock.. And type what you see with no spaces.. THis should connect you... IF it doesn't.. To find your routers Security key... Plug in the ethernet cable provided with the Livebox.. Open up internet explorer.. And type this in the Address bar " 192.168.1.1 " This will bring up the Inventel log in screen.. Click the Orange link.
Username:Admin
Password:Admin
Go to System Information and scroll down to the wireless section.. 7 blocks down will be something that says Security key (WPA-TKIP) Copy the 26 character code, unplug the ethernet cable from there and use that code to connect to to the livebox wirelessly.. This should have it running..
If it doesn't then i would ask for that username and password asap and then try all of that again once you have it.. The disk is a waste of space to be honest with you..
XP
I'm doing this from memory so you may have to bear with me slightly.. It's very similar to the Vista way of connecting though..
Taskbar.. Click the wireless network icon.. Click connect to a network.. Find yours.. Enter the security key twice.. Try the one on the bottom of your livebox first.. If that fails then try the one in system information as i showed you above..
If you run into problems let me know and i'll see if we can save you the hassle of ringing CRUSTomer services..
You sir, are a gent and a scholar. Will have a go when I visit my mum tonight.
Ended up calling Orange for the username/password which they gave. This is after calling them, then them telling me to call another line, who in turn told me to call the original line back.
