Hi, Anyone actually manage to get out of their mobile contract if they have had broadband down for 30 days. I am in day 28 of the dreaded PPP server down... nothing works, different modem, settings (read all the threads). The call centre......
So, has anyone managed to convince Orange to let them out of the mobile contract, quite frankly do not want to be any type of customer of theirs....
You can get out of any contract at any time......at a cost.
I think you'll find it easy to get out of broadband free of charge once 30 consecutive days of no connection are up and you have a regular call pattern to CS during those 30 days.
But if the mobile service is working properly why would they let you cancel that free of charge ? You can certainly cancel it but expect to pay contract cancellation charges.

If the customer service is so shocking, the technical team dire, the scustomer experience poor, why should I continue being a customer?

But your complaint is regarding broadband not phone !!!
As I said, "You can get out of any contract at any time......at a cost."
All depends if you treat Orange Mobile and Orange Broadband as seperate companies. I personally do not, I was direct mailed repeatedly to sign up to mobile (I was an original Wanadoo customer). I wouldn't be a mobile customer otherwise. When companies start to offer these double play, tri play offers they need to consider the customer experience. If a customer receives a poor experience from one business unit, are they likely to want to be a customer of another....? could be debated but from a personal point of view I want nothing to do with Orange, I don't see what benefit they get from keeping an unhappy customer. I think I have easily cost them more money in answering my calls to the call centre than it would have cost to free me up from my contract.
Anway, thanks for answering the question borednow....
After 8months downtime - I rang Virgin to swap to them and canx my DD to Orange. 2 days later the ornage broadband is working. Virgin are out on Friday and once and for all I dont ever need speak to Ornage again - STAY WELL CLEAR OF Orange!!!!
