Hi, i was wondering whether anyone could tell me how to connect up my wii to the livebox using a wired connection, would this also disable the wireless aspect of my livebox while i am on the wii?
I have noticed that when my brother connected his laptop to the livebox, with a wired connection, i could still play on the wii wirelessly.
Many thanks in anticipation of your reply.

This would not affect any of your wireless capabilities.. But while playing may effect bandwidth slightly.. =]
You'd need to buy another Ethernet (RJ45) cable and plug it into another port on your Livebox. Which will then plug into the 10/100 adapter. Which will then plug into the USB on your Wii.. I hope this all helps..
p.s The Livebox allows 2 wired connections and up to 6 wireless connects at the same time..
Thanks, much appreciate your reply.
Now that i have the internet channel on my wii would a wired connection be a better option regarding the security side of things, or would the wireless still be sent making the wired connection pointless.

Well.. If your wireless is secured properly security shouldn't be an issue.. i.e WEP keys & Firewalls in relevant places.. But if you get a wired connection and have no need for Wireless anymore.. Then the wireless can be turned off from Router in configuration.adsl from your web browser..
It's really a matter of preference as to which connection you want to use.. Wireless is what the Wii was designed for.. But it's capable of Wired.. In my opinion.. Paying out for the 10/100 adapter is quite an unneccessary spend if you have Wireless with Security.. As long as you have a WEP key that is safe and only known by you.. You'll be safe from War Drivers & hackers.
Thanks Aaron you have been very helpful, security and medical issues have tipped the scales for me towards using a wired connection rather than the wireless option.
