Just got my livebox and use to be able to vpn to my machine from work. Have opened port 1723 and pointed to current LAN address but it won't work. This was working earlier today on a different router. Have updated the firmware and not changed any lan addresses so just wanted to find out if anyone has got this working ? I know you need gre 47 but cannot configure this on the livebox !
Any ideas really appreciated. Also can you access the livebox remotely ?
Yeah, a lot of people seem to have problems with PPTP VPNs and the Livebox (see other posts in this forum). Never tried it myself, but a couple of ideas:
1) Have you given your machine a fixed IP address
2) Have you tried either lowering the Livebox firewall or setting up a firewall rule for PPTP just in case this enables GRE.
Hay people I just wanted to know if anyone now how to forward ports on there livebox?
I’ve been trying for the last 6 days to get it working; ive even contacted the Orange livebox Tec-help line. I got passed to India about good 30 times and they all didn’t know what port forwarding means? If they have it on the livebox config menu about port forwarding to add ports etc. and they tell me they don’t know what it means, how gave these people jobs? And I don’t clearly call the Tec-support help line at all I would call them waste of time. I could get a 7 years old kid to do the job they doing.
Anyways I wanted some help from you people out there! Can anyone tell me how to port forward? Ive added the ports I want to forward, I check on U’Torrent if its active and I get a error reply back saying its appears not to be open. Ive only got the green light once when it said its open and check it the next day and its closed! Well my head is spinning with this ports etc can anyone advised me how do make the ports I want open?
Hi i have looked through all the problems and can't find what im looking for so i hope im posting in the correct place for help .
I am using incrediMail for my emails i have configured my googlemail to pop3 to forward my emails to my incredimail account . The problem is that it should search for emails every one minute but is not working so i think this has to do with my firewall settings .
Incredimail help : If your firewall does not appear on the above list, please follow these simple steps:
1. Go to your firewall settings, and find the list of all the programs the firewall has detected.

I cannot find where to do this in the firewall settings , on reading some of the posts in this topic i see you have to configure smpt and pop3 to port 25 have i read that right ? Im not very good at understanding all these smpt and other things like that so if you can help, can you lay it down in easy words so this dummy can understand lol

Normally it's just a matter of putting the settings into your email program and allowing it out of your firewall. Unless you're trying to send through google on port 25 then you should have no problem. Sending through an non-orange server needs to use an alternate port, which google provide I believe.
