Hi
I have a PC and a laptop accessing the internet via a Livebox. The PC is connected directly to the Livebox and the laptop is networked via a homeplug into the second ethernet port in the Livebox.

I would like to create a network so the laptop can access the external hard drives attached to the PC.

I have tried creating a home network via the Control Panel but the two computers can't see each other.

Has anyone any ideas as to how to solve this?

The windows system should do it but it can sometimes cause problems. Any firewalls/security that could be blocking it?

You could try googling manually setting up a network in windows.

I've got Sygate on the laptop and Zonealarm on the other so I will try and get them to see each other.

Best thing to try is turning them off and see if it works, if so then turn them back on and check out the settings in them for networking etc.
