Been looking on the Orange website to see what the first step is to take with regard to connecting to their broadband package.
I moved into my apartment 6 months ago and don't have a phone line, the person I purchased the apartment from had range broadband installed so I assume he had a BT phone line connected to the room.
I have phone sockets in the living area and bedroom but I've delayed the process due to wanting to start my 18 month contract with Orange for both Mobile and Broadband (So I can get the Home Max for £15pm for 18 months).
So the question is;
Do I need to call BT to get me up and running and then switch to Orange? or can I call Orange and have them connect me in the same way they disconnected the previous apartment owner?
Thanks
After reading through this forum I get the impression Orange might not be the best Broadband provider either?

Yes you do need a BT line, Orange only takeover existing BT lines, you need a new BT phone number.
Well, I think it's common knowledge that Orange lag behind several other ISPs in the popularity stakes. But even with this knowledge many people are still attracted by the all-singing, all-dancing special offers that Orange keep putting out....
Thanks for that, I know there is a BT line to the building but I just need BT to switch it on then
No doubt with what I have heared about BT being so slow in connecting people the offer will end (March 31st) And I'll have to pay full whack. I guess at this time I need to consider other ISP's Sky / Broadband etc.

Are you utterly mad? You know hell's chosen broadband supplier is Orange, don't you?
