Hi, I phoned Orange tech today for the first time to ask for a line test, they went through everything that i needed to try - I'd done them all apart from a factory re-set on the livebox. Has anyone had any results with doing this? Has it increased your speed? And when it's re-setting does it recalculate the fastest speed the line can cope with ie If i do it at a quiet time will it give me a faster speed.
Simply turning the box off and back on should get it to re-sync at the best available speed providing you're on a rate adaptive service. Just remember re-syncing doesn't mean you're IP profile, if on ADSL Max, will increase immediately.
The factory reset just means any settings you've changed in the box will be lost and you have to re-enter the username and password.
Thanks Elhana, i think I've exausted this subject now, I just have the feeling that Orange ain't going to get my speed any quicker, it jumped to 4mb straight after i first complained by e-mail but now a few weeks on it's gone back down to 3.5mb
