Having some problems with my friends Livebox. I can connect to the internet with a wired connection but it won't connect to the internet with a wireless connection
I've been on the phone to Orange technical several times & they basically pass the buck, they say as the laptop will connect to the router (wireless) it's not their problem!!

Back to basics, this is what I would have said before firmware upgrade:
UNABLE TO CONNECT WITH WIRELESS:
Are you pressing Button 1 on Livebox to put it into pairing mode?
Press Button 1 on Livebox so the wifi light flashes. This puts livebox into pairing mode and you have 10 minutes to try and connect your wireless device . This only needs to be done once and then you should be able to connect every time .
I had to change security on Livebox to WEP only.
WEP key is case sensitive.
If security is an issue WPA is more secure, try WPA only.
You could also try Changing the channel. One recommended to try is channel 9. Try this first if you can not see the Livebox at all.
Another issue is if there are 2 programmes on the computer that you are trying to connect trying to control the wireless. Turn off the programme that came with the wireless card and use XP to control the connection.
