I have a Windows XP desktop with Ethernet connection to the Livebox - no problems. I have another Windows XP desktop with wireless connection to the Livebox - no problem when using a short (WEP) key but not connecting when using a long (WPA) key. Finally I have a Windows Vista laptop that connects fine with long (WPA) key but can't when using shoret key.
So as you see I have a conflict with wireless connections. One connects with WEP, the other with WPA but never the twain shall meet. Any ideas - this is driving me nuts.
I've had a dig around here and it seems tha there are a lot of disgruntled Livebox users about - and that my problem is a bit of a common - Vista related thing. As I'm not tied to Orange by any contract (I've been using them for 2+ years) any ideas where I should go. I'm tempted by Sky (£16/month intro package they're pushing at the moment then £19/mnth) - but not too bothered about the Sky TV stuff with it. Any Broadband suggestions that Vista and XP are -roven to work properly and jointly with - or is that a forlorn hope!

Depending on your settings for this you should be able to connect both with WPA..
You need to make sure your XP Desktop is set to use TKIP.. I had a similar issue with mine.. And that should allow you to use WPA.. If it's already set to TKIP try using the other.. Not too sure on the name of it.. (AES??)
To find that... Find the Network you want to connect to.. And go to properties... Again..I'm writing this from memory. But you should be able to connect with WPA..
