I have 3 squeezebox's and I've had enough of the livebox droping the wireless connection so the music stored on my NAS turns off.
I've purchased some Netgear HDX101's which plug into the mains and a router and send the signal around the house on the mains cable so I have a wired network.
I've pluged it into the livebox red port but I'm not really sure if this can work as a wired router and if not then do I buy a router and plug it into the livebox?
I still want to use my laptop via the wireless connection but use the 3 squeeze box's via the Netgear wired setup?
Any help would be great thanks.
I'm not certain on this. You connect one of the powerline adapters into the livebox and another to a device at the other end. That should work perfectly fine. As for multiple adapters connecting through one into the livebox, that should work I believe but the manual should say one way or another if that's right. You'd only need anything extra if you needed more ports at either the livebox end or at the other end of where you want to connect your slingboxes. If you did need more ports then a router is a little over the top, just a network switch would do as the livebox can control the full network, which is the best idea.
