I have been with Orange/Wannadoo/Freeserve from the days when Freeserve was actually free. Three years ago I switched to broadband and having been consistently without change connecting at 2.2 Mbps.
Three weeks ago I phoned up to request my package to be changed to Home Select. Two days later I received an email from Orange saying that they have made the changes to my home package and my new speed is up to 2.5 Mbps. At this point I noticed that my connection speed was 1.1 Mbps. Remember, I have not changed any hardware, telephone lines etc as I have not even received the Livebox then. This was 3 weeks ago and I have now received the Livebox but my speed before and after Livebox has remained at 1.1 Mbps. I have made 7 phone calls to Orange support, I have been told, to delete cookies, reset internet explorer and a whole load of run around even when I tried to explain that the reduction in speed must have been from there side not mine as it happened when I had made no changes. Now Orange has said they will order a line test but I need to phone back in 5 days! I phoned back and they said I now need to phone back in 3 days!!! What a load of crap!!!!!
Any suggestions as to what to do next?
