I have had an ongoing issue with Orange for nearly a month now, my speeds keep going up and down, one minute I'll be getting 4mb then i'll be down to 400kb I threatened to leave and they sent a BT engineer out who couldn't find a fault with the line. I have now got my MAC code and have signed up to Sky (I just hope they're better!) But could someone look at my stats posted above and tell me if everything is ok?!!!
I'm worried now that I've blamed Orange for this speed issue and then I'll have the same problem with Sky and won't have a clue what it is!
Check if you are on LLU mate, if so then from my personal experience i reckon LLU speeds fluctuate all the time, they are not 100% the same all the time. Only on the old IPStream were the speeds stable and consistant.
If it is a pain then goto speedtester.BT.com and do a few tests at different times of the day, for a few days in the week. then ring up and ask for the line to be tested if you already have not done so, I doubt an engineer would solve a speed issue at your premises, usually problems like that lie in exchanges.
