The extension, if it is causing problems, isn't too bad as the sync speed is still over 5000.
Turning off the router can cause problems but if it's just once or twice a day then it's not too bad. Just try and leave it alone as much as possible, if you want to turn it off try and do it only at night or for long periods to minimise the effect.
Ok, i tried that, but my extension box is a lot smaller than usual boxes and it doesn't have screws on it. But i shouldn't see why that would effect it because it was working fine the other day.
And i only ever turn my router off at night so i am really stuck for what to do now. I only do it because it makes a weird noise that can be quite annoying when i am trying to sleep.
It's not the extension box you unscrew, it's the first main phone socket where the line comes into your property.
To be honest just ignore that part for now as it won't do anything for the profile directly. Just keep an eye on the profile and the downstream from the speedtest. Profile should rise within 3 days. If the downstream changes up or down more than say 500 it could mean it's unsable, the bigger the change the worse it is.
IP profile for your line is - 4500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 5216 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2166 kbps
IP profile for your line is - 135 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 5024 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 119 kbps
Well something is happening....profile up from 135 to 4500; connection rate up from 5024 to 5216 and throughput up from 119 to 2166.
Use cotton wool in your ears and keep the router switched on !!
