OK, I'm currently on Canary 30; this came with the broadband package, which I'm now on. However, more and more, I'm now needing access to data on the move (and not just because I need to update my agps device regularly!); I'm happy enough to use Edge/GPRS, but the data costs a right pain (a fiver a meg? OUCH!); I recently checked my records, and found my Canary 30 contract expired on 7th January (whoopee - no contract tie anymore!), so I'm looking at options. Obviously, I'd like to pay less than 30 quid a month. I'd also rather hang onto my number, so a MAC for the phone (which I've done before) is easy enough if I change provider.
However, I've read and seen horror stories on here regarding moving ISP from Orange, and, truth be told, orange appear, at least at the moment, for me, to be behaving on broadband with me (I even upgraded to the unlimited BB package a while back, to stay safe on bandwidth). Never the less, the mobile package I'm on is too costly on data, so a change is required.
If I move mobile away from Orange, do I lose my broadband, or will I have to pay full whack?
And yes, I did ask at the local Orange shop - to say they were less than helpful would be an understatement: They completely failed to understand what I was asking. I also searched on here before posting, but either used the wrong search terms, or wasn't looking for the correct information!
All help gratefully received on the above, and thanks in advance!
