Just passing on some information about MAC codes here.
I was with Orange until late 2006 when the connection stopped working for 2 weeks so I left them.
They did their usual trick of not giving me the MAC code etc.
Anyway I moved to Idnet and they have been faultless in over a year of great service.
I have decided to try o2 (now Sky) broadband as I have a mobile contract with them and they are much cheaper.
Also the fact that they have taken over the highly reputable BE too so looks like a good service.
I rang Idnet on Friday and they issued me with a MAC code, by email, 5 MINUTES later!
So it just shows all this carry on about 5 working days is absolute rubbish to issue MAC codes.
That's if you're lucky enough to get one from the lying Orange.
I will give o2 (now Sky) broadband a try but they do have a 3 month period where you can leave without a fee.
After this it is only £50 within the first year of contract too so no real penalty to try it out.

Your right IDNet gave me my MAC within 2 hours of requesting it this time last year, it took 3 weeks to get one off Orange and even then i had to get it via the ISPA, good luck with 02

I have been trying to get a MAC from Orange for about 3 weeks now. Have given up complaining to them, as every complaint by email or phone is followed by an email, apologising for the inconvenience, and then saying that they are escalating the MAC request and generating it in YET ANOTHER 5 WORKING DAYS!!! It goes on and on. Have now passed on the problem to ISPA and just hope they can sort it.
