Just wanted to report also, that after 9pm I have difficulty in accessing loads of websites including Google. I'm also downloading large files of about 300MB at speeds of 210 ish kb/s then after 9 it drops to 25 kb/s.
I'm in Cardiff, Wales so this problem seems to be nationwide and has been for about a month now.
Does anyone know if that would be anything to do with Orange?
Cheers for any ideas.
*edit - apparently 3 3G is blocked by Hutchison Cellular from using DS as well as Orange users. Someone on DS has logged a support call to 3 3G, so that might save a call to Orange, hopefully!

I`ve just called Orange about the above problem (almost 30 hours now).
After humouring him by changing DNS, and then him telling me I should wait to see if it sorted itself out! *sigh* I thought I was going to get nowhere.
But once I told him 'ok - shall I go post on the Orange problems board that your advice was to wait and see' he seemed to get more interested! hah
I finally managed to give him all the info I could, including the visualroute info link I posted earlier etc... and he`s promised to pass all the info over to the correct people.
I wait with bated breath! lol
zounds, see this fromanother forum, it's not just you, I can't access digitalspy other than through the link in the post :-
"We have had reported to us today Saturday 19th January that some people are having problems accessing the site. We have been told by our network supplier that one of the networks they peer with is having routing problems. This means that if you are also connected to that network that Digital Spy may not be as available as it should be.
We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause and rest assured that our network team are trying to solve this as I type this.
Thanks for that nhyder - where the hell is that message on DS then?
I wish they'd posted it in the broadband/internet forum, I wouldn't have bothered calling Orange if I'd seen that. Ahh well, at least the server at fault is going to get messaged from all sides.
I've been connecting using zend2.com myself.
Just tried freeproxyserver and it seems to work just as well, if not better, cheers.

I have just called tech support and they have a msg up saying some people are having problems with Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. They say it's a general problem and tech's are working on it, just keep trying to se if it is fixed!!!
I have 1pc ethernet and 1 laptop wireless to the livebox. Only the pc has the problem (4 days) not the laptop. But when the prob started 5 days ago it was the laptop that had the problem not the pc!

Yep, that's the DNS problems that Orange has been having recently, it's different to the Hutchison routing problem that some Digital Spy FMs have now.
Anyone with DNS problems using 195.92.195.94 + 195.92.195.95 are being recommended to use the alternative 193.36.79.100 + 193.36.79.101 instead.
Or, as has been recommended on this board (and work fine), the OpenDNS nameservers of 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220).
Bring up Internet explorer and in the address bar type 192.168.1.1
this will bring up your inventel screen to give you access to your live box.
Click the Orange coloured line to get access to your livebox, a pop up should appear and ask for an username & password, they should be "admin" and "admin" (both lowercase and no " , if you changed yours sometime in the past, enter what ever you changed them to)
Click on "My services" then "Internet"
Under "internet connection state" click the "disconnect" button and wait a min or so.....
Now press "connect" and your live box will refresh it's IP address and off you go !!
I did it twice before it worked for me......
I can now waste my precious time again Playing TF2 and shouting at my monitor when I'm being critted all over again !!

Hello all,
We thought we would let you know that we did indeed try to find out for you what the cause of your email and website issues were from Thursday 24th January to Monday 28th January 2007.
In fact, we got in touch with a number of people and we got a response from Orange via ISPreview UK :
"We can confirm that Orange Broadband customers experienced difficulty accessing Orange email addresses and some websites over the weekend (26 - 27 January 2008). This was due to a technical issue with a third party supplier. Engineers worked hard to resolve the problem and full service has now been restored. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
