you will never get 8MB, always calculate around 90% of your given speed.
Im on 8MB to and i get....
Sometimes it will hit the 7000kb mark but only very late at night with little traffic.
Also just to be sure, you're not confusing kbps with kB/s are you?
kbps is for connection speed as is 8x more than the kB/s speed you usually see when downloading something.

Sorry for the late reply, I think I am getting confused I did think those two were the same I'm now getting download speeds of around 600-700 kb/s, that is about the average then I take it? I thought I'd be getting speeds of 5-6mb/s Like it says when you test your connection speed.
