So, I have been reading the forums up and down and everyone elses problems with Orange. Now it is my turn. Our connection started dropping recently so I decided to investigate. After looking at our Livebox settings.
ADSL firmware version : A2pBT009c1.d17d
Connection mode : G.DMT
Type : Fast
Noise margin (dB) : 30.2
Attenuation (dB) : 20.0
Attainable download rate (kbps) : 10880
ADSL status : Connected [0]
Downstream: 2272
Upstream: 288
It seems that I am not even close to 8mb. While 2272 kb is a lot better than some people in the forums. I was wondering if I can press Orange Customer Care about this as I will be calling them about the dropped line issue. I think we live pretty close to the exchange. So, if anyone has any comments or suggestions about how to deal with OCC I would greatly appreciate it.
I am on an 8mb/5£ plan bundle with my mobile.
Our Flat wiring is new and tested.
Yep, checked again, the stats are solid. the exchange is only a few blocks away.

I figure that when Orange switched me to an LLU, they capped me at 2272
So, If I am "capped" How do I go about telling OCC how to uncap me? From various posts it seems Orange doesn't know how to do that themselves. Or at least without forcing a contract extention.
Zone what did you do to get up to 8096? I have a feeling that when I call that I will have to tell the Orange Rep how to do their job. I see that you ended up talking to the executive office, how did they Fix it?
I have already had my line tested and they said nothing was wrong of course. So I should be seeing those speeds.

Zone's on ADSL Max which is different to LLU. You could try asking for them to escalate the issue as there's no set process to get speeds upgraded in this sort of situation AFAIK.
