if you do a search for Anytime on this forum, or probably even google, I think you're right
If they do end as threatened/promised then I'm going to sign up with Three's mobile broadband for £15 per month which, in my area will give up to 2.8 meg and all this without tying up our phone system with ADSL etc.
Orange have just written to us (24 Dec) claiming that they had not heard from us and claiming that they had attempted to switch us to broadband, but that this process had failed, so they were keeping us on Dial-up until next year when they would give is "plenty of notice" before they did close Any Time.
But we had cancelled our service with them on 1 November as we did not want to stay with Orange or switch to 2MB broadband - so they should not have been attempting to set us up on broadband.
They are continuing to take Direct Debits on the grounds that they have now decided to extend Dial-up into next year - even though we had told them that we had already set up broadband with another provider when we cancelled our Any Time account on 1 November.
We were charged for the whole of November and have also been charged for December. We are demanding a refund and an apology. If we don't get a refund or they won't cancel the Direct Debit despite a written request then we shall go to Ofcom.
