I was thinking that too until I saw this on the BT website:
The charge for fitting an internal extension socket during normal working hours is £166.33 (£50.00 per extension socket plus a visit charge of £116.33. Both prices include VAT).

k the best way will be to do phone line, phone splitter(so you can have ur phone up stairs or downstairs, then run a full line up to the office put in a fiter then router, this means you can have a phone upstairs as well later on even if you don't want to now. is a small thing but people will look at where the plugs and things r when u sell the house, it won't add value but still!!
dont run them in the wall then cover up the cables NOT GOOD this will just cause problems later on, put it under carpet is the best way, hidden with easy access, and its easy to do, or staple it to the wall.
