Im posting on behalf of a friend whos had no Orange connection for over 2.5 months now. She keeps getting fobbed off with "phone us back in a few days to see if its fixed"
Her contract is up in December and has asked for a MAC code but been told by Orange she cannot apply for this until at least 1month before her contact end? Can she insist on a MAC code whilst still in contract? Do Orange have to provide this whilst still in contract? She is willing to pay the remainder of contract just to leave Orange.
reagrdless of any remaining contract, Orange have to provide the MAC withing 5 working days by law.
As they have clearly lied by saying they cannot provide it yet I suggest contacting OFCOm and ISPA to register a complaint.
This, in many cases, gets Orange to suddenly change their mind and find an excuse for their previous bull err I mean excuse.
They do absolutely anything to try and keep customers - long as they're getting their money off customers every month.
also if no internet for over 30days I'm sure its Orange's policy to give a MAC code straight away, regardless to whether it's the beginning or end of a contract, with no cancellation fee.
Thanks for letting us know that you want to cancel your Orange home broadband service. We're sorry you'll be leaving us.
There are a few things you'll need to remember before you go:
If you're still in your minimum term contract period, you'll still need to pay the remaining balance on your account. This means, if you're on an 18 month contract and wish to move at the end of month 6, you'll owe us the remaining 12 months' balance when you've successfully moved to your new provider.
If you're moving to another provider, your new broadband provider will ask you for a Migration Authorisation Code or MAC which is ------------------ It's only valid for 30 days so if you don't move to another provider in the next 30 days, just ask us for a new one.
You'll also need to give them your MAC before you cancel your service with us, otherwise the MAC won't work.
I have not had a connection after 6pm for the last 6-8 months now so I think its a case of "see you in court then"

If they are not providing the service you are paying for they are in breach of contract it helps also if you dispute this with dates etc Orange should have records of your calls of complaints then i doubt if they will not try and make you pay your contract out, why should anyone pay for something you they getting.
