hope i`m in the right place. have been having same problems as everyone by the sounds of it. have livebox, been good for year and half, now disconnecting itself and rebooting itself. tried to get help from Orange(what a joke). phoned them half a dozen times ,same old useless advice,no change. so i have changed my router as by the sounds of it so have a lot of people. the problem i am now getting is my connection seems to cut out a few times a day. have spoken to a friend who advised me to check my ip address after each disconnection, he seems to think that everytime i lose connection its because the ip address is being changed. when i recheck ip after reconnection the ip has changed. can i change to a static ip

You can't get a static IP address with your Orange account, no. Someone more knowledgeable might express a different opinion, but I in any case think it's very unlikely to be the source of your problems; I think it's pretty much certain that the IP address is renewed because your connection has dropped, not the other way around.
You need to check your wiring and filters, because these can cause problems. Having said that, I get similar problems, almost always between early evening and the small hours, but never (I think) during the working day. For that reason, I'm inclined to think that my problem is with Orange. My Livebox reconnects straight away, and nearly always - in my case - with the same IP address. I've just learnt to live with it. If you're getting a new IP address every time, it sounds as though you might be disconnected for longer, which I can see might be less tolerable.
i`ve changed filters, checked wires and reset everything,still getting same problem. i was just hoping it wasn`t the provider (wishful thinking). problem seems to occur very frequently whilst checking out this site(very strange or just my imagination). thanks anyway

This happens to my Livebox. Does not cause a real problem, only does it once or twice. Has not happened tonight.
