I’ll post this in a few as not sure where is appropriate as I have a issue with my connection keep dropping out and Orange!
I can believe how badly the change over has been from a fine no problem issue for the past 4 years with Freeserve / Wanadoo to this so call free upgrade not worth the hassle 2p I pay for line dropping connection I now have with Orange.
I am a technical support engineer but I find the lack of information I get back from Orange is not helping matters.
Since my upgrade from a 2mb line to a 4mb+ (quote ‘if my telephone line can handle it’) I’ve had connection dropouts (mainly at night) every hour or so and this will not do.
I use the Acaltel (green) stringray and this has been fine for the past year no problems move to Orange and now I get drop outs and reeor 680 line disconnected it then can't reconnect after 99 attempts and gets the error 797 which means it can’t find my modem and I have to reboot which is so frustrating.
Unlless i sit by my computer and watch it all day and night once the error 797 comes up i have to reboot. SOmetimes after the erro 6680 i have to uninstall and reinstall the modem, what the f**k are Orange playing at!
I have read all other scenarios and other people’s similar problems on this forum and updated the latest drivers and reinstalled everything but no joy. The only thing I can think of is I need a better modem but Orange hasn’t informed us that this needs to be done. I suppose there view don’t inform unless there is a problem which to many of the engineers at the end of the phone that can’t see???
What really frustrates me is that they are going to make even more millions from the support line by making people call in and say there is a problem when they should have dealt with it in the first place.
If anyone else has had similar problems and I’m sure there is bound to be hundreds then please let me know;
a) How your response was from the support staff
b) Did they give you any advice?
c) What was it?
d) Did it resolve the problem?
Any one have any email addresses i could use as telephon staff are s**t, I'm a technical support engineer and have worked on HelpDesk and i would be ashamed if i worked here!
