that means that everything is ok does it? i just dont understand that in the last few days iv been lucky to get 2 meg even in off peak times?

If you feel confident, you could try tweaking. You may have read on here about the importance of the phone cabling within your house. This is where a lot of interference can occur which slows down your connection.

no xp at the moment. i was running vista, sent the laptop in to be fixed and they didnt put vista back on it so iv had to put a mates copy of xp on it till the vista disk arrives through the post. cant wait tho i miss vista and i didnt have any problems with the net while i had vista but as soon a si installed xp iv started to have this problem with the speed thing.
It's possible your profile could have dropped but moved back up before you got to run the speedtest, that would tally a bit with BT saying what profile it was on at the time.
