I cancelled with Orange in May in favour of Talktalk (superb).
I received a letter from Orange yesterday sayng I owed them 22.99 and that because I had not paid, they were cancelling my broadband.
This was transferred in June !. I had had no comms from them sisnce the payment had not gone through from my bank so I guess they could add the late payment fee. I phoned them and after pressing 1 for a poo etc got through to a "human ?". I was told this conversation was being recorded so I told him I was recording the conversation as well.
At this point he said if I do not stop recording he would terminate the call. This was because it was a personal conversation between him and me. I said it was a communication between me and an arrogant corporation and how dare they record me. He terminated the call.
How come its ok for them to record us and not for us to do the same.
since being with TT, I have got 6.5meg speeds, free telephone all for 19.99 per month and less than a minute to get through to an operator. they also gave me 6:50 refund because caller ID wasnt working without asking. Come on Orange, get your heads out of your corporate A***s

Common complaint.....probaby Accounts dept not talking to Operations dept. Put it in writing to Customer Services.
You also have the right to terminate a call if you are told that the conversation is being recorded.
There's another possibility with this. TalkTalk use a full LLU service in a number of places, if you migrate onto this system (a MAC isn't required for the migration to full LLU at the moment) then it's possible that Orange weren't informed at all. It's a flaw in the whole system that as far as I know hasn't been fixed yet.
Well I got it off my chest, I feel better now !
I did have a MAC code issued so the LLU was not operational at the time.
Also apologies for posting in wrong forum
